We begin this adventure with the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, its endless savannah plains of the home to endless flora and fauna, forming one of the most extensive eco-systems in East Africa - spreading over into neighbouring Tanzania's Serengeti. It is famous for its 'Big Cats' and the 'Big Five' (lion, rhino, cheetah, elephant and African buffalo). But for us it is a mixture of the landscape, wildlife and its seizeless interactions - with millions of eco-systems interconnected. One of our major priorities is to ensure your experience far away from crowds as possible.
Onwards to Lake Naivasha or Lake Nakuru. The all encompassing shores of most of Kenya's lakes are teeming with birdlife (both residential and migratory). They dart into the clear waters for fish or perch high on outstretched trees, patiently watching and waiting. Their beautiful singing is in stark contrast to giant hippo's snorting loudly through massive nostrils and gapping jaws, when not wallowing or quietly piercing the water's surface with their twitching ears and red eyes. Water is life and the perfect place to watch a multitude of species sharing the same space. A fitting example of nature's flawless jigsaw puzzle.
Amboseli (affectionately known as 'Ambo'). Above looms Africa's highest mountain - snowed peaked Kilimanjaro. It is home to some of the continents largest elephants who, for eons have paved routes from the large cool marshes surrounding Ambo's dusty terrain up into the forrested sanctums of Kilimanjaro close by in neighbouring Tanzania.
